CAPTION
Spermwhales are the biggest predators on Earth. These massive cetaceans feed mostly exclusively on squids deep in the abyss, holding their breath for tens of minutes.
Females and juveniles live in tropical waters like here in Dominica, while solitary males frequent tempered and cold waters, only joining sometimes the female pods to mate.
Juveniles can be pretty playful and curious. They use to stay shallow when adults deep dive to feed, offering a fun spectacle to everyone around!
This one almost offered a squid tentacle to Cecile who took the picture instead of sharing the spermwhale meal.
