Spermwhales are the biggest predators on Earth. These massive cetaceans feed mostly exclusively on squids deep in the abyss, holding their breath for more than an hour.

Females and juveniles live in pods in tropical waters like here in Dominica, while solitary males frequent tempered and cold waters, only joining sometimes the female pods to mate.

Watching them sleeping is quite impressive. These whales sleep together, staying still and vertical for dozens of minutes. Romain took this picture in Dominica after looking for them for hours.
