Spinner dolphins use to range up and down the Pacific coast of Costa Rica especially in February and march. They travel in massive pods sometimes more than 10000. They look for lanternfish, the most numerous fish on Earth, coordinating to gather them in massive bait balls.
Cecile took this picture in February 2022 in the middle of a 5000+ dolphin pod.
This picture has been multi awarded. It was the Nature Best photo award winner and above all one of the finalists of the most prestigious contest in the world, the Natural History museum of London contest.
